From the beginnings of kneading the clay till you place your finished piece of work on the table, is an extremely personal and sensory journey, only pottery can offer. Pottery is an experience that is more than just a hobby – it quietens one’s mind, and can be very therapeutic.

Basic hand-building techniques such as coiling, slab work, pinching and solid form will be introduced, after which the student will choose a technique to form their first art piece. Decoration techniques such as simple "slip application" of the glaze will be taught to enable students to colour up their art work creatively.
